A dense-fog advisory, issued Wednesday morning for Long Island, expired at 10 a.m., the National Weather Service said.

A special weather statement issued just after 10 a.m., advising of continued fog in northeastern and southeastern Suffolk, expired at noon, the weather service said.

Forecasters said drizzling rain is expected throughout the day with thunderstorms possible later Wednesday.

More fog is expected overnight, and scattered showers, thunderstorms and fog are expected Thursday.
