Forecast: Expect rain midweek as temps rise back into the 80s
Long Islanders will feel the warmth as seasonal temperatures return, though they should expect a midweek pocket of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
Clouds will continue Sunday with a chance of showers in Suffolk County, said Tim Morrin, a meteorologist with the weather service.
The high Sunday will be 78, while the low will be 63.
Monday will clear up, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 78. The clouds return Monday night, with partly cloudy skies and a low of 65.
Tuesday again will be mostly sunny, with a high of 83. The clouds return Tuesday night, with a low of 68.
Wednesday will continue the warming trend, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 88, Morrin said. But a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms comes to the area Wednesday night, which will have a low of 71.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms rises to 50 percent on Thursday, with a high of 85. The chance of precipitation continues on Thursday night, with a low of 67.
The skies will clear up by Friday, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 83.
