Enjoy the weekend -- because the Monday morning commute could be snowy.

Another system is headed this way, and there is at least a 30 percent chance of up to 6 inches of snow for Long Island, said Jeff Tongue, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Upton.

A hazardous-weather outlook has been issued for Saturday through Thursday, as more precipitation is in the forecast for later in the week, the weather service said.

A system arrives Sunday, and though it could still track farther to the south, it does look like some snow will hit the area, with the big question being how much, he said.

Saturday's high is expected to be into the 50s with a low of 31.

Sunday, the high temperature will be only be near 40, with a low of about 21, the weather service said. There is a chance of snow, mainly after 3 a.m. Monday, though accumulation will be less than 1 inch, the service said.

More snow is likely later Monday, when it will be blustery with a high in the upper 20s, the weather service said. The chance of precipitation Monday is 60 percent, and snow is likely to end by 9 that night.
