Freeze warning for Suffolk overnight

A freeze warning is in effect for Suffolk County overnight through daybreak Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning period is from 2 to 7 a.m., as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s and lower 30s, forecasters said.

"These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," the weather service said in its warning.
