A frost advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. for Suffolk County.

With frost expected, "sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered or unprotected," the National Weather Service said in its advisory.

Shortly before 8 a.m., the temperature was 37 degrees at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma.
