Thursday’s Long Island forecast calls for partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to high 60s, the National Weather Service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said winds from the northeast shift south at 5 to 15 mph and there’s a chance of spotty showers between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Skies clear in the evening, and winds shift again to the northwest, Hoffman said. Overnight lows range from 45 to 50.
Hoffman called the outlook for Friday beautiful, with conditions mostly sunny and warm. Daily highs will range from 70 to 75 degrees.
The warm, dry conditions don’t last long; the service said to expect “an unsettled weather pattern” for the weekend, including the possibility of showers Saturday and temperatures dropping into the mid 60s on Saturday and Sunday.
