Saturday and Sunday will feature clear skies over Long Island but it will also be bit chillier than it has been lately.

The National Weather Service said it will be sunny Saturday with a high near 48 degrees but with a north wind of 9 to 14 mph gusting as high as 24 mph.

Saturday night the thermometer is predicted to drop to around 27 degrees.

"The weekend will be dry as Canadian high pressure continues to build in, with the center passing to our north on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to be below normal, in the 40s for both days, and Sunday will be a bit cooler than Saturday," the weather service said Friday afternoon in is regional summary.

Sunday on Long Island is also expected to be sunny with a high near 43 degrees but clouds will move in a night.

Then on Monday, rain will fall, mostly after 10 a.m., the weather service said. The chance of precipitation is 80% with between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

More rain is expected Monday night before clear skies return Tuesday.
