Long Island gets a dose of unseasonably mild temperatures for the next several days, starting Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

Conditions Tuesday across Nassau and Suffolk counties will be cloudy and mild, with daily highs in the low 60s, the service’s Upton office said.

Winds from the southeast are at 5 to 8 mph and clouds increase throughout the day.

Wednesday and Thursday are even warmer, said News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman.

Normal highs this time of year are about 45 degrees, but daily highs through the weekend are expected to be about 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

On Wednesday and Thursday, daily highs in the low 60s are expected, according to the service. The record high for Wednesday is 64 in 2000; Thursday’s record high is 62 in 2006.

“Above normal temperatures continue with a chance of showers Thursday and Friday and then Sunday and Monday,” Hoffman said.

Hoffman said clouds build Tuesday evening with some fog. Overnight lows are in the mid 40s.

Wednesday is forecast to be sunny and warm, with clouds and spotty showers moving in Thursday.

Friday also looks to be unseasonably warm — near 60 degrees — with mostly sunny skies.
