It's a windy, dry, chilly Saturday on Long Island.

High temperatures are expected to reach the low 50s, but with winds blowing 20 to 24 mph and gusts over 30 mph it will feel colder, forecasters said.

The conditions, a combination of low relative humidity and gusty northwest winds, mean there's an "enhanced threat for brush fire spread this afternoon," the National Weather Service said.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30-degree range overnight, with some areas, such as the Pine Barrens, seeing temperatures in the upper 20s, said Jay Engle, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Upton office.

Highs on Sunday are expected to be in the upper 50s with plenty of sun, he said.

"Sunday will be a perfect mid November day," Engle said.

Winds on Sunday will be lighter than Saturday, with speeds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts of 25 mph.
