Long Islanders may be waking up to some patchy fog early Wednesday morning, but it will then be mostly sunny skies for the rest of the day, forecasters say.

Look for temperatures to head up to the mid to upper 60s, with cooler conditions on the East End, according to the National Weather Service, based on the late afternoon Tuesday forecast.

The normal high temperature for the day at Long Island MacArthur Airport is 65 degrees, with 48 the normal daily low.

Thursday looks to be similar to Wednesday, the weather service said, though chances of showers and thunderstorms enter the picture for much of the Island from Thursday night into the early hours of Friday.

The last day of the workweek is expected to bring sunny skies, with highs in the mid- to upper 60s — again, cooler on the East End, forecasters say.
