The temperature is expected to near 67 degrees with northeast winds around 8 mph for Wednesday, June 7, 2017, forecasters said.

Having delivered high temperatures around the mid-60s, Wednesday will go on to bring mostly clear skies overnight with patchy fog possible early morning Thursday, forecasters said.

That’s to be followed by mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to low 70s Thursday.

Forecasters are monitoring a coastal storm expected for early morning Friday. The National Weather Service was calling for a 25 percent chance of rain for western Suffolk County Friday, increasing to close to 50 percent for the Twin Forks, said John Murray, weather service meteorologist in Upton.

Nassau appears to be mostly off the hook, and any rain that does come Friday would be less than a quarter of an inch, he said.

That forecast is as of late Wednesday afternoon, with future shifts possible, as computer models continue to squabble over the system’s track.

A changing weather pattern also is about to bring a shift in temperatures, forecasters said, rising to the low to mid-80s for the weekend and beyond.
