A cooler, clear Tuesday with highs in the low 50s is predicted to give way to a slightly warmer Wednesday with more unsettled weather at night, meteorologists say.
Wednesday will feature increasing clouds, late-day drizzle and fog, and temperatures in the mid 50s, forecasters say, followed by overnight showers and a low of 50 degrees.
On Thursday, around an inch of rain is expected to fall on western Nassau, increasing to a possible inch and two-thirds for eastern Long Island, according to the National Weather Service's late Tuesday afternoon forecast. That would be from early morning Thursday through Friday evening.
Thursday's temperatures head up again to the lower 60s.
