Chance of showers remains on East End, National Weather Service says

After a day of scattered showers on Long Island, there's still a chance of rain on the East End, and a slight chance on the North Shore, forecasters said.
Westhampton Beach, as of around 4 p.m., had recorded .28 of an inch of rain on Tuesday, with Long Island MacArthur Airport registering just .04, said Joe Pollina, National Weather Service meteorologist based in Upton.
The Island has been deemed "abnormally dry" by the U.S. Drought Monitor. April saw a 2.68-inch deficit, with May, as of Sunday, down by 1.64 inches.
For Wednesday, look for windy conditions, a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures in the 60s, according to News 12 Long Island's weather page.
