Gradually clearing skies will give way to a mostly calm and sunny Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

Morning commuters faced lingering rain and areas of light fog but the service's Upton office forecasts daily highs in the mid- to upper 60s with a west wind between 10 and 16 mph.

News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said Tuesday night partly cloudy conditions are expected to emerge with lows in the mid 40s, he said.
