Sunny Saturday, showers possible Sunday with temperatures in the 80s both days on Long Island, forecasters say
Who isn't looking forward to the weekend, even if one day brings clouds and a slight chance of rain?
For outdoor activities, Saturday is shaping up to be the better day, with sunny skies, low humidity and temperatures in the low- to mid-80s, said Carlie Buccola, National Weather Service meteorologist based in Upton.
Sunday brings similar temperatures and partly or mostly cloudy skies, with a small chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, which also could persist into Monday.
Both higher temperatures and humidity are expected to return to the area next week, Buccola said.
"Tuesday to Thursday of next week -- back to hot and humid weather," said Rich Hoffman, News 12 Long Island meteorologist.
