Long Island weather: Friday brings temps in low 70s, sun

The end of Long Island’s workweek will be mostly sunny and warm, the National Weather Service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said morning clouds and patches of fog were expected to give way to sunshine and daily highs in the low 70s.
Also, morning winds will shift from the east-northeast to the southeast at 5 to 15 mph.
Hoffman said Friday’s dry, warm conditions get pushed aside by late rain on Saturday, into Sunday morning.
Both Saturday and Sunday have daily highs in the mid 60s to nearly 70 degrees, he said.
Each day offers a bit of breezy weather, and Monday, Columbus Day, has mostly sunny skies.
“Nice weather, cool for Columbus Day,” he said.
