Rain accompanies slightly warmer than normal temperatures and breezy conditions Friday across Long Island, the National Weather Service said.
The service’s Upton office said periods of rain are likely after noon, along with a chance of thunderstorms, and daily highs push toward 70 degrees.
Winds from the south are from 7 to 13 mph.
“Some wet weather is in the forecast, but most of the day will be dry,” News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said.
Mostly cloudy conditions will get some breaks of sunshine, Hoffman said.
The best chance for rain is late in the day, and clouds continue into the nighttime hours, he said.
There could be scattered showers and thunderstorms that linger through Saturday morning. Winds shift to the southwest and then again to the northwest.
Later Saturday, there’s a mix of sun and clouds with winds from the north at 10 to 20 mph with some gusts to 25 mph.
Daily highs Saturday range from 65 to 70 degrees, he said.
