Saturday should bring cloudy skies over Long Island but by the evening the skies are expected to clear again and stay mostly clear for the new week.

The National Weather Service on Friday evening that Saturday will have increasing clouds with a high of only about 69 degrees, which would be 9 degrees below the normal high for the date in Islip.

The would be a turnaround from Friday when the thermometer topped out at 90 degrees at 2:42 p.m. in Islip, which eclipsed the record high of 88 set on June 17, 2000.

The weather service also said on Saturday a northwest wind will blow at 13 to 17 mph with guys as high as 29 mph.

Saturday night is expected to be cloudy during the early evening and then gradually clearing, with a low temperature of around a cool 48 degrees,

Sunday, the Juneteenth holiday, should be sunny with a high temperature near 74 degrees.

Monday will be sunny and then the next four days through Friday will be partly sunny, the weather service said.

High temperatures Monday through Friday are forecast to range from 75 to 81 degrees.
