LI forecast: Sunny Saturday but slight chance of rain Sunday

Long Islanders can look forward to getting outside for a barbecue or picnic should have opportunities this weekend, but Saturday is looking to be a safer bet than Sunday.
The National Weather Service on Friday evening was predicting Saturday on Long Island will be partly sunny with a high temperature near 81 degrees. A light southeast wind should waft over the Island shifting to coming out of the south at 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
Saturday night into Sunday there is a 20% chance of showers with a low temperature of around 70 degrees.
Sunday, some rain could fall, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 83 degrees, the weather service said. The chance of precipitation for the day is 30%.
The new workweek will start Monday with a chance of showers, with thunderstorms again also possible after 2 p.m. The probability of precipitation is 50%.
There is a slight chance of precipitation on both Tuesday and Thursday, but Wednesday and Friday should have sunny or mostly sunny skies, according to the weather service.
High temperatures are predicted at 82 degrees on Monday but then in the high 80s during the rest of the workweek.
