Friday will be sunny but cooler than recent days, when the unseasonable heat had Long Island feeling less like waning October and more like early June.

The high Friday will hit about 70 degrees under mostly clear skies and winds between 8 and 10 mph, the weather service said, with the low at night dropping to about 50.

Wednesday's high for most of Long Island nearly hit 80 degrees, with Thursday's highs in the mid 70s.

Even cooler temperatures are predicted for Saturday, when highs will dip into the low 60s with continued sunny skies, according to the weather service said.

The low Saturday night will hover around 47.

Sunday starts out promising with more clear skies and a high of 63, but by dark, clouds increase with a 30% chance of showers and a low of 49, according to the latest forecast.
