Light winds, sunny skies and warmth are on tap again Friday for Long Island, with similar conditions for the start of the weekend, forecasters said.
"A gorgeous day out there — dry and crystal clear," News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said.
Shortly before 1 p.m. the temperature at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma was 80 degrees, expected to head up a degree or so further, the National Weather Service said.
A coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday for the South Shore bays of Nassau County for "shallow flooding," the weather service said.
Friday brings a moderate risk for rip currents at ocean-facing beaches, with ocean swells likely to bring that same risk through the weekend, the weather service said.
Temperatures for Saturday and Sunday were expected to be a few degrees warmer, with highs around the mid-80s.
Chances of showers and thunderstorms enter the picture Saturday night, potentially spilling into Sunday morning, the weather service said.
