The weekend should be bright and clear, before turning rainy early Monday.

Saturday will be sunny with a high temperature near 67 degrees and a light and variable wind shifting to coming out of the south at 6 mph to 11 mpg in the afternoon, the National Weather Service said Friday evening. The normal high for the date in Islip is 64 degrees.

Saturday night is expected to be mostly clear with a low temperature of about 53 degrees.

Sunday should bring more sun with a high near 67 degrees.

The dry weather will end as the new workweek starts Monday with showers likely, mainly after 9 a.m., according to the weather service. The chance of precipitation is listed as 60%.

Tuesday has a 40% chance of showers before 9 a.m. before the forecast predicts sunny to mostly sunny skies for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Monday's high temperature will be about 67 degrees while the rest of workweek will have highs in the high 50s to low 60s, according to the weather service.
