Long Island is looking at a likely stretch of dry and mostly sunny skies right through the weekend and into early next week, forecasters say.

Saturday’s bringing great beach, pool and boating weather, said Rich Hoffman, News 12 Long Island meteorologist. “Sunny and hot,” he said, as temps rise to the mid-80s up to the neighborhood of 90 in some spots, with cooler conditions at the beaches.

“Mostly sunny skies Saturday are forecast, along with seasonably warm temperatures,” the National Weather Service in Upton said. The normal high for Saturday and Sunday is 82 degrees at Long Island MacArthur Airport.

We have similar conditions for Sunday — perhaps a couple of degrees warmer and an uptick in humidity.

As for Monday? We can roll that tape again — sunny skies and temperatures rising to the mid-80s or so.

After that — there could be a trip up to the low 90s.
