Cloudy skies are forecast across Long Island for Monday, with a chance of scattered rain and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to be fairly consistent Islandwide, with highs ranging between 77 and 79 degrees, and lows falling in the mid- to upper 60s. The Pine Barrens region is expected to hit the cooler end of that range.

In Islip, a high of 78 degrees and a low of 69 is projected.

The outlook falls a few degrees below the normal high of 82 degrees for this time of year, according to the weather service.

A flood advisory was issued late Sunday for Nassau County, with the potential for minor flooding Monday.

Clouds will continue to hang around Tuesday and begin to move out by the afternoon, with any rain expected to clear before 6 a.m. A high of 79 and a low of 67 is predicted, and the rain will move out at night.

Mostly sunny skies take over on Wednesday with a high of 81 and a low of 68 predicted.

More mostly sunny skies are forecast for Thursday, when a high of 82 and a low of 70 is expected.

For the start of the weekend on Friday expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 85 and a low of 71.
