Long Island weather: Sunny and warmer

The weather is expected to warm up a bit on Long Island on Tuesday and Wednesday and remain that way for Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.
The National Weather Service said Monday evening that Tuesday will be sunny with a high temperature near 47 degrees. Temperatures in Islip only peaked at about 40 degrees Sunday and Monday.
Tuesday, a northwest wind of around 7 mph is also expected.
Tuesday night should be mostly clear with a low temperature of around 34 degrees.
Wednesday will be sunny with a high of about 52 degrees, while Thanksgiving Day should be sunny, with a high near 51 degrees, which would match the normal high for the date in Islip, according to the weather service.
Shoppers on Black Friday, however, may have to dodge raindrops when then go out to find bargains. Rain is likely after 1 p.m. with the chance of precipitation listed as 70%. The expected high temperature is about 56 degrees.
Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high again near 56 degrees, the weather service said.
