Long Island this week is expected to see a springtime mix of sunny skies, occasional showers and mild temperatures.

Tuesday there is a chance of showers — the possibility of precipitation is listed as 30% — mainly before 11 a.m., but the clouds of the morning will gradually clear, the National Weather Service said Monday evening.

The forecast says the thermometer on Tuesday is will rise to about 67 degrees, which would be 11 degrees warmer than the normal high for the date in Islip.

A southwest wind of 7 to 10 mph Tuesday will become northwest in the afternoon, the weather service said.
Tuesday night is expected to be mostly clear with a low of around 46 degrees.

Both Wednesday and Friday are expected to be mostly sunny but Thursday has a 40% chance of showers after 2 p.m. and Saturday has a 30% chance of rain after 2 p.m.

High temperatures for the last part of the week will be in the low to mid-60s, according to the weather service.
