Long Islanders can look forward to a comfortable week of fall weather.

Monday will see increasing clouds with a high temperature near 66 degrees and a nighttime low of about 54 when there is a slight chance of drizzle or light rain, the National Weather Service said Sunday.

Tuesday’s temperatures are expected to reach near 70, higher than the average high of 62 for the day at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip. The low Tuesday night is expected to be 58.

Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Wednesday morning will give way to partly sunny skies, the weather service said. Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday are both expected to top out at about 70 degrees with nighttime lows in the upper 50s. Friday will be a tad cooler with a high near 68 and a low at night of 55.

Then Saturday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-60s.
