Showers, clouds and fog dominated Long Island's weather Sunday, heralding a week in which there is a chance of similar gray skies and rain every day through Thursday.

Rain is likely off and on until Tuesday, when the chance of rain lessens to between 30% and 40% for the rest of the workweek, the National Weather Service said.

Friday is the only day in which the sun could make an appearance and even then, forecasters said, it will only be "partly" sunny.

Temperatures will be seasonable all week, staying in the low to mid 50s, until Friday, when it will be close to 60 degrees.

The good news?

Next weekend looks sunny and warm, according to the weather service.
