The holiday weekend will not be a washout on Long Island as Saturday clouds and thunderstorms will give way for warm sunshine on Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

While a fast moving thunderstorm will dissipate in Suffolk by Saturday evening, parts of Nassau may see brief, scattered showers before 8 p.m. as a low pressure system continues to move through the area, but it will not dampen the rest of the weekend, said Dave Radell, a weather service meteorologist in Upton.

Beachgoers who were disappointed by the cancellation of the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach on Saturday afternoon, can catch the impressive stunts on Sunday, which is forecast to be dry and sunny with highs in the upper 70s. The nighttime low will be 61 degrees.

Memorial Day is forecast to be warmer with a high of 86 degrees and 61 at night.

And Tuesday is supposed to be even hotter — 87 degrees during the day with mostly sunny skies.
