Unseasonably cold, dry weather will rock the region this weekend, but it’s expected to start warming up again Monday through the Thanksgiving holiday, according to the National Weather Service.
A cold air mass will cause temperatures to plummet to a low of 30 degrees Saturday night, according to Brian Ciemnecki, a weather service meteorologist.
“It’s well below normal for this time of year,” Ciemnecki said.
Sunday’s forecast high of about 40 degrees will feel more like it’s in the teens due to the wind chill. Ciemnecki said that the high this time of year is normally about 52 degrees.
The overnight low will be 26.
Temperatures will start moderating a bit on Monday, and skies should stay sunny until Thursday.
Monday will reach a high of 46 degrees before dipping to 32 overnight. Tuesday is expected to be about 48, with an evening low of 35. Wednesday will reach a high of 52, while overnight lows will dip to 36.
Thursday will be 52 degrees, with a 30% chance of rain at night and lows of 41, the weather service said. There is a 50% chance of precipitation on Friday with a high near 56 expected.
