Long Island weather: Sunny and cool after rainy morning

A chilly, rainy Saturday morning is expected to make way for sunny skies in the afternoon, forecasters said.
A light rainfall is expected to end between 10 a.m. and noon as it tapers off from west to east, according to David Stark, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton.
“This afternoon we’ll see the clouds start to break and the sun will return,” Stark said.
Saturday's temperatures are forecast to be in the mid- to upper 50s, he said. The normal high this time of year is 64, he said.
Temperatures overnight will dip to the low 40s, he said.
Oyster Bay's Oyster Festival starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, after the rain is expected to clear out. The weather should be nice for the festival on Sunday, too.
"Sunday will be much nicer, sunny and a bit milder," News 12 Long Island meteorologist Bruce Avery said. The high will be about 60 and the overnight low will be about 50.
Monday is expected to bring clouds, showers and winds, Avery said. The high should be 66 with a low of 52.
The rest of the week is expected to be sunny with highs near 60 and lows in the 40s.
