Long Island weather: Sunny then cooler

A sunny Sunday is forecast with cooler temperatures ahead next week, the National Weather Service said.
“We should have dry weather right through Monday," Jim Connolly, a meteorologist with the weather service in Upton, said Saturday afternoon. "Tomorrow should be sunny with a high around 80.”
Temperatures will drop to around 61 degrees Sunday night. Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 76 degrees. Showers may return Tuesday and Wednesday with a 50% chance of rain Tuesday and a 40% chance of precipitation Wednesday.
The rest of the week will be dry. Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 83 degrees. Friday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 84 degrees.
