Clouds should gradually depart Sunday morning and for the most part stay away from Long Island until Monday night.

The National Weather Service predicts Sunday will have a high temperature near 47 degrees with a north wind of 7 to 10 mph. Sunday night the low should be around 29.

The forecast for Monday calls for a high near 42 degrees but wind chill values between 25 and 35.

On Monday night there is a slight chance of snow showers between 9 p.m. an 10 p.m., then a chance of rain showers, according to the weather service. The low should be around 37 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 40%.

The weather service says there will be a 50 percent chance of showers before noon on Tuesday. The high is expected to be near 53 degrees.
