A sunny Saturday will turn wet by Sunday afternoon, creating messy driving conditions on one of the busiest travel days of the Thanksgiving week.

Saturday will be clear and gusty, with a high near 53 degrees and winds as high as 21 mph. Temperatures will drop to 41 degrees at night, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a high likelihood of rain Sunday afternoon that will linger through Sunday evening and taper off late at night, according to John Murray, a weather service meteorologist.

“We are not expecting any flooding, still it’s enough rain to make surfaces wet. You want to drive slower to account for that and be more careful, and have your headlights on too,” Murray said.

At least temperatures will be mild Sunday — in the lower 60s, roughly 10 degrees above normal, Murray said. Sunday evening temperatures will drop to the mid- to upper 40s.

The week opens with clear weather. Monday will be mostly sunny with a high of 56 degrees and a low of 35.

Tuesday will also be mostly sunny with a high near 50 degrees. Evening lows will be around 40 degrees.

There will be a 50% chance of precipitation on Wednesday after 1 p.m., with the mercury hitting a high near 60 degrees and falling to 38 at night.

Thursday will reach a high of 50 degrees, with an evening low of 30. It will be sunny.

Friday will be sunny with a high near 50 degrees.
