The sun is expected to shine on Long Island on Sunday and no precipitation is in the forecast for the rest of the week except on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service predicted Sunday will start off partly sunny and gradually clear even more while the high temperature will reach near 54 degrees. A southwest wind should blow between 6 to 13 mph. Sunday night a low around 40 degrees is expected.

Monday is predicted to be sunny with a high near a toasty 61 degrees.

The weather service in its regional summary Saturday afternoon said: “On Monday a deep west to southwest flow will get established behind a warm front moving well north of the area. This will allow temperatures to climb well above normal.”

Cloudy skies are expected to return to Long Island on Tuesday. The weather service said there will be a 30% chance of showers after noon with showers likely at night. The high temperature Tuesday should be near 57 degrees and a low that night around 47.

Partly to mostly clear skies are then expected from Wednesday through at least Saturday. High daytime temperatures will range from the low to mid 50s, the weather service said.
