Friday is expected to be sunny and just slightly warmer than Thursday, with highs mostly in the low 80s, the National Weather Service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said to look for humidity levels to rise Friday and Saturday.
Beach goers should know that a moderate risk for rip current is also expected Friday at Atlantic-facing beaches.
Saturday brings the chance of showers, with the potential for any afternoon thunderstorms to “approach severe limits” and bring locally damaging winds to the area, the weather service said in a hazardous weather statement.
Temperatures around the mid-80s are expected for Saturday, feeling warmer thanks to humidity. This, the service said in its forecast discussion, “will make for a rather uncomfortable day.”
