High temperatures may be mostly in the upper 80s for Wednesday, but it won’t be feeling much hotter than that as the day also brings lower humidity, forecasters say.
“Less humid weather the next 24 hours,” said Rich Hoffman, News 12 Long Island meteorologist. “While it will stay warm, it will feel a little better,” though humidity is expected to make a return for the weekend.
Indeed, with the thermometer registering 85 degrees shortly before 2 p.m. at Long Island MacArthur Airport, the “feels like” temperature was just 86 degrees.
Skies are expected to be partly sunny Wednesday, with winds from the west between 10 and 15 mph, the National Weather Service said.
Beachgoers in Suffolk County should know there’s a high risk for rip currents at ocean beaches, with a moderate risk for Nassau’s South Shore.
Winds lessen Wednesday night, coming from the northwest, with lows mostly in the low 70s, the weather service said.
