The end of Long Island’s workweek calls for unseasonably warm temperatures once again under mostly sunny skies.

The National Weather Service said daily highs Friday across Nassau and Suffolk counties will push into the 80s, about 8 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

“Another warm afternoon,” News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said of Friday’s forecast.

Hoffman said there’s a slight chance of showers Friday night, with a cold front bringing in cooler weather for the weekend.

The service said the cold front will bring some associated showers, and a few thunderstorms will be possible later Friday. Overall, including the weekend, not much rain is expected.

Skies turn mostly cloudy Friday night, Hoffman said, and some spotty showers are possible.

On Saturday, morning clouds give way to mostly sunny skies and daily highs in the low 70s.

On Sunday, expect mostly sunny skies, with conditions turning breezy and slightly cooler. Daily highs range between 65 and 70 degrees, he said.
