Storms may be on the horizon for Friday, the National Weather Service said, but the sun should be out over the weekend.

After a mostly cloudy night, Friday starts out mostly sunny with an expected high of 85 degrees. The threat of storms starts in the afternoon with a 30% chance after about 2 p.m., forecasters said.

Then Friday evening, rain and thunderstorms are considered likely, about a 60% chance. They may carry gusty winds of up to 21 mph, the weather service said.

On Saturday, the sun comes out again, with light winds and a high of 85.

Sunday and Monday should be sunny and slightly cooler, with highs in the low to mid-80s.

There is a slight chance of rain on Tuesday, with highs forecast to be in the mid-80s. Wednesday is expected to be sunny, with highs in the mid-80s.

And, said the weather service, expect the humidity to rise: "An increasingly warmer, more humid airmass will filter in early next week with high pressure over the western Atlantic and a frontal system approaching from the mid-section of the country."
