Mostly sunny skies and warming temperatures are in store for Long Island over the next several days, including the weekend, the National Weather Service said Thursday.

Daily highs Thursday are expected to push toward the upper 50s with northwest winds at 7 to 10 mph, the service’s Upton office said.

News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said that with a stretch of warmer weather in the forecast, tree pollen levels will increase.

“Some people may need medicine to help fight allergies,” Hoffman said.

Thursday night winds shift to the east-northeast with overnight lows in the mid- to upper 40s.

Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 50s.

By Saturday, Hoffman said it should be in the low 60s and then in the upper 60s on Sunday.

On Monday, daily highs across Long Island are expected to range from the upper 60s to low 70s, he said.
