Thursday's overnight fog will stay on parts of Long Island through Friday morning and clouds will then dominate the day, forecasters said.
But the warm stretch that has temperatures seeming more Summer than Fall-like will continue, with highs in the mid 70s.
In fact, temperatures for the next seven days should cling to a slightly warmer ranger than usual, reaching the low to mid-70s during the day and dropping into the upper 50s and low 60s during the night, the National Weather Service said.
Calm winds prevail Friday, then pick up slightly Saturday, when clouds continue to be in control and showers are a possibility Saturday night into Sunday, forecasters said.
The weather service estimated the odds of showers after 2 a.m. Sunday at 30%. Those chances rise to 40% during the day before easing to 30% that night.
