After a chilly Tuesday morning, temperatures have rebounded into the high 60s in most places on Long Island along with plenty of sunshine, according to the National Weather Service.

The strong breezes that developed over the weekend are persisting, with wind gusts up to 25 to 30 mph possible, the weather service said, and temperatures will dip to the low 40s Tuesday night.

Windy conditions should continue into Wednesday, though with "less magnitude" than Tuesday, the weather service said. Wednesday is also expected to be sunny, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the 50s.

The sunshine should continue Thursday, and highs are forecast to be in the upper 60s with lows in the 50s.

But then Friday is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a chance of rain that night. Highs should be in the upper 60s, the weather service said.

Showers are also possible throughout the weekend and into at least Monday. Highs are expected to be in the upper 60s and low 70s.
