Tuesday is turning out to be an above-normal day, warming up to near 50 degrees, forecasters said.

Look for that warmup to be accompanied by periods of light rain, as well as winds from the south of 11 to 13 mph, the National Weather Service said.

As of just before 2 p.m., the temperature at Long Island MacArthur Airport was 47 degrees, with light rain and winds from the south of 12 mph.

As for the overnight low, it is forecast to go down to stay in the high 40s, with increasing winds, the weather service said.

Wednesday brings “morning clouds and showers giving way to sunshine,” said Rich Hoffman, News 12 Long Island meteorologist. Highs will be around 58 degrees.
