More sunshine and cool conditions are in store for Long Island on Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

Daily highs push into the low 60s with winds from the northeast at 5 to 7 mph, the service’s Upton office said.

News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said Nassau and Suffolk counties will get near normal temperatures along with dry conditions through most of this week.

Clouds develop Tuesday night and into the morning hours, Hoffman said.

Overnight conditions will be cold, in the mid 40s, and somewhat chillier — in the mid 30s — in the pine barrens, he said.

Wednesday is a mix of sun and clouds with daily highs ranging from the mid 60s to near 70 degrees, Hoffman said.
