Long Island weather: Warm-up coming Friday

Expect another two more days of below-normal temperatures before we see a warm-up to the 50s on Friday, forecasters say.
“We do see a warm up, but we get a little stormy on Saturday,” said News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman, referring to rain, not snow.
At around 2 p.m. Tuesday, the temperature at Long Island MacArthur Airport was 41 degrees, with the normal high for the day 44 degrees.
Wednesday is expected to be sunny, with highs in the upper 30s and northwest winds making that feel cooler still.
Thursday starts off partly sunny as the day heads up to the high 30s, and chances of flurries enter the picture in the afternoon, the weather service said.
Then, there it is: After a string of 10 days of below normal temperatures, assuming the forecast holds, Friday is forecast to bring partly sunny skies and highs of about 50 degrees, the weather service said.
On its heels comes Saturday, a few degrees warmer, with likely rain and a possible thunderstorm, Hoffman said. After that, dry skies and highs in the mid-40s are expected for Sunday.
