A mostly cloudy Tuesday night should give way to a string of dry days on Long Island, forecasters said, with seasonable temperatures.
Overnight, lows should be in the high 50s, with a calm wind. Highs Wednesday will rise to just above 70 degrees with partly sunny skies, the National Weather Service said.
Thursday and Friday are forecast to be mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s and lows close to 60 degrees.
The weekend looks unsettled, forecasters said.
There is a 30% chance of rain Saturday, which could last into Sunday.
Columbus Day Monday looks to be cloudy but dry, the weather service said.
