Long Island gets a further break from precipitation Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies.

But we can all can envision what’s bound to follow. Yes, back we go to chances of showers for Thursday. And then, a bounce back to some sunshine through the weekend.

As for Wednesday – “two thumbs up,” said Rich Von Ohlen, News 12 meteorologist. “An awesome day,” with a few high clouds and temperatures in the 70s.

Thursday, well that could see a little soaker, he said. The National Weather Service was forecasting an 80 percent chance for rain and possible thunderstorms.

It’s back to dry for Friday, expected to be on the windy side, Von Ohlen said.

Same for the weekend, with temperatures in the 70s.

It’s possible for Sunday, Father’s Day, to see a late day shower, with those precipitation chances spilling in to Monday, as well.
