Bright sunny skies and cool temperatures Wednesday will make a return trip to Long Island on Thursday and hang around for most of the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

After a mostly clear night with a low dipping to 42 degrees, Thursday looks to be clear with a high of 59 and a low at night of 47 under partly cloudy skies, the weather service said.

Then Friday, expect a brief warmup, with sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s.

Temperatures will drop down into the upper 50s Saturday with mostly sunny skies and a nighttime low of 46. On Sunday, the high will top out about 63 with a mix of clouds and sun. At night, the temperature will drop to 47.

Monday is expected to be cloudy, with a chance of rain overnight and again on Tuesday, the weather service said.
