The front that brought all that moisture to Long Island this week is moving out overnight, with clear skies moving in for the next few days, the National Weather Service said Wednesday.

After a cloudy evening with the outside chance for showers, the sun will be making a return appearance through at least the weekend, forecasters said.

"Low pressure along the Mid Atlantic coast slowly drifts southeast and further offshore through Thursday. Meanwhile, high pressure starts to build in from the west. High pressure remain over the area Friday through the weekend," the weather service said in its forecast.

Then Thursday through Sunday should be sunny, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, and lows in the high 60s, the weather service said.

The high rip current risk for Atlantic Ocean beaches has been extended through Friday evening and the weather service warned they are dangerous and even life-threatening for anyone entering the surf on Suffolk's South Shore.

Starting with Monday night, a 30% to 40% risk of rain creeps back into the forecast for early next week with highs remaining right about 80 degrees.
