Sunny skies, temperatures in the low 80s and light winds are in the forecast for Wednesday.
A dense fog advisory was issued at 6:40 a.m. for Gardiners Bay and eastern Long Island Sound, and it was lifted at 8:45 a.m., the National Weather Service said.
It will be mostly cloudy Thursday with a chance of showers in the afternoon and a chance of showers and thunderstorms at night, the weather service said.
Showers and thunderstorms are also possible before noon Friday, the weather service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist said Thursday afternoon will be “dry, beautiful.”
“Wet weather for Friday, and then it looks like another good weekend. No major storms or heat waves for the next seven days,” Hoffman said.
Daytime highs during the remainder of the workweek and through the weekend should be in the low to mid-80s, the weather service said.
